His days at Alagappa College of Technology saw Madaboosi Santanam Ananth pass out with flying colours and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. His return to Chennai 5 years later with a Ph.D. from the University of Florida, USA marked the beginning of his career at the Indian INstitute of Technology, Madras. Rising from Associate Professor to Head of the Chemical Engineering Department during his tenure as a professor and later as the Director of IIT-M, M S Ananth has been a vital cog in the institute. His 9 year stint as Director was marked by the introduction of a reformed industrially-oriented academic curriculum and IT infrastructure development. Inspired by the open source learning platform of colleges such as the MIT, he is the mind behind the launch of National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning or NPTEL as it is popularly known. An innovator in its truest sense, M S Ananth will join us at SSN College of Engineering to inspire the engineers and leaders of tomorrow. Are you ready to invente?
